Building on the School Partnerships Alliance’s ‘School Partnerships for Impact Guide’, produced with The Partnering Initiative, this publication focusses on science collaborations. In keeping with S.P.A.’s vision, most of those featured are between state maintained schools and those in the independent sector. Some, though, feature working with partners outside the education sector.
This document draws on thirteen science case studies, collated by Christina Astin and Chris Hillidge. It is presented to align with key areas from the School Partnerships for Impact Guide (SPIG), and SPIG page numbers are given for ease of cross-referencing. Quotes from contributors are shown in red and their top tips for success are included in stand-alone boxes. The case studies are followed by articles focusing on more practical aspects of partnership working, and how to explore resources, from subject expertise to funding.
You will see from our case studies that partnerships have the power to impact not just pupils, members of staff and schools, but also families and communities. We hope you will find these informative and inspiring; most important of all, we hope they will give you the motivation and confidence to develop impactful science partnerships of your own.
